About Granite

We choose to work primarily with Granite, as it is the highest quality natural solid stone, which is best suited to memorials.  It has proven to be weather resistant and durable, ensuring that we are offering our customers satisfaction, not just for today, but also for generations to come.

Its strength and beauty, gives us the confidence that we are providing a memorial that will last. Granite is also better able to take inscriptions than other natural products; they are clear and can easily be added to when required. This exceptional stone that can be supplied in many colours and worked into traditional and modern shapes with a variety of finishes.

Usually the face of the memorial is polished, to facilitate the inscription. For the top, back and sides, they are usually either polished, or are rocked. The natural rock finish provides a contrast with the face; however, it is more prone to growing lichen, which incurs a greater amount of maintenance required. Most of the memorials that we offer have polished sides and backs. These memorials, teamed with a granite base, are relatively maintance free, providing no rough areas for lichen to start growing.
